Moong Daal Halwa


Moong Dal Halwa is very rich halwa but it tastes heavenly.

Preparation Time: 15 mins.                               Cooking Time: 15-20 mins.

Serve: 6-8



Ingredients
  • 100 gms Khoya ( Mawa)

  • 6-8 Cashew nuts chopped

  • 200 gms  Ghee

  • 100 gms Moong Dal

  • 150 grm Sugar

  • 6-8  Almonds  chopped

  • 1/2 tsp Green Cardamom Powder

  • 4-6  Pista ( Pistachio unsalted) Chopped
Method
  1. Soak the Moong Dal in plenty of water for about 2 hours or more.

  2. Take the Dal out and grind it into a coarse paste, use a little water if needed while grinding.

  3. Take a thick bottomed pan and heat the ghee.

  4. Add the Moong Dal paste in the ghee.

  5. Keep on stirring continuously while cooking for about 20 minutes or so till the colour tends to change to browning red.

  6. Add the sugar, cardamom powder and the nuts.

  7. Add the Khoya or condensed milk.

  8. Stir for 2 more minutes and remove from the heat.

  9. Adorn it with dry fruits,almonds,green pistachios.

  10. Serve  hot and enjoy.
