Moong Dal Halwa is very rich halwa but it tastes heavenly.
Preparation Time: 15 mins. Cooking Time: 15-20 mins.Serve: 6-8
Ingredients
- 100 gms Khoya ( Mawa)
- 6-8 Cashew nuts chopped
- 200 gms Ghee
- 100 gms Moong Dal
- 150 grm Sugar
- 6-8 Almonds chopped
- 1/2 tsp Green Cardamom Powder
- 4-6 Pista ( Pistachio unsalted) Chopped
- Soak the Moong Dal in plenty of water for about 2 hours or more.
- Take the Dal out and grind it into a coarse paste, use a little water if needed while grinding.
- Take a thick bottomed pan and heat the ghee.
- Add the Moong Dal paste in the ghee.
- Keep on stirring continuously while cooking for about 20 minutes or so till the colour tends to change to browning red.
- Add the sugar, cardamom powder and the nuts.
- Add the Khoya or condensed milk.
- Stir for 2 more minutes and remove from the heat.
- Adorn it with dry fruits,almonds,green pistachios.
- Serve hot and enjoy.
