Gujia is Indian traditional sweet made mostly on festivals like Holi and Diwali but it can be cherished throughout the year! Its sweet, filled with coconut, khoya and dry fruit and is delicious.
Preparation Time: 15-20 mins. Cooking Time: 15 mins.Ingredients
- 2cup Maida
- 4 tbsp Semolina
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Coconut powder or grated coconut
- 5 tsp Cardamom
- 100 gm Khoya
- 4 tbsp chopped Almonds
- 4 tbsp Raisins
- 4 tbsp Chirongi Dana
- 4 tsp Powdered sugar
- Oil for frying
- Mix maida, semolina, oil in a vessel with water to form a hard dough.
- Heat a pan and saute Khoya and coconut powder in it till it leaves side.
- Remove the vessel from the stove and allow it to cool.
- Add coconut powder, chopped Almonds, Chirongi dana, cardamom, raisins, powdered sugar and stir well.
- Take small balls of flour dough and roll into small pooris.
- Place a small ball of filling, fold and paste the ends using little water. This will make one raw gujia.
- Make all the gujias and keep aside.
- Hot oil in a deep Pan.
- When hot put one by one gujia in it and fry till light golden brown.
- Take out on Kitchen towel and let it cool
- Serve when cool.
