Coconut Laddoo


This ladoo is prepared in all festivals in Indian home. A delicious coconut balls with sugar and cardamom flavour. Enjoy!

Preparation Time:  7 min                     Cooking Time :25 min

Serve: 4




Ingredients
  • 2 ½ cup shredded coconut (fresh/dry)

  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk  or 100gms Khoya and 1 cup powdered

  • ½ tsp cardamom powder

  • ½ cup coconut for garnishing/rolling the laddoo
Method:
  1. Heat a heavy bottom flat pan (preferrable non-stick) on low flame.

  2. Add the shredded coconut first and gently stir it for about a minute till pale brown. This is to remove any kind of moisture from the coconut and also to bring out its nutty flavor.

  3. Next add the condensed milk and stir. Or add grated khoya and powdered Sugar. Make sure that the coconut mixture does not get stuck to the bottom.

  4. Depending on the quantity it takes about 20-25 minutes to thicken up.

  5.  Add the cardamom powder at this stage and mix well.

  6. After it is sufficiently cooled, taken small pieces and roll into balls.

  7. Garnish or roll this over the remaining coconut shredding. This makes about 10-15 medium sized laddos.

  8. Serve when Cool.
Tips:

You can store it in fridge for 10-15 days in air tight container.
