French Fries


Every single kid and many adults like french fries. So why not try it at home with the same crispiness we get at restaurants.

Preparation Time: 15 mins                                              Cooking Time: 10 mins

Serve: 4-6



Ingredients
  • 5 big Potatoes

  • Vegetable Oil for frying

  • Salt to taste
Method
  1. Peel and wash potatoes.

  2. Slice potatoes into 1/2  inch thick strips.

  3. Place these strip into microwave safe bowl with water and little salt and microwave on HIGH for 5 mins or till potatoes are little soft but still firm. This is called Par boiling. If you do not have microwave you can boil them in open vessel with water and little salt.

  4. Take out when done  and dry completely on a towel for 5-10 mins.

  5. Heat oil in a frying pan.

  6. Drop potato strips into hot oil.

  7. Fry until golden brown. (about 8-10 minutes)

  8. Remove from pot and drain on paper towels.

  9. Sprinkle salt when fries are hot.

  10. Serve  hot with ketchup or mayo.
Tips

If you are health conscious you can bake the fries at 250Degree C in oven after par boiling them. It turn out equally delicious.
